Sky has announced that it will show the first season 4 episode of hit fantasy drama Game of Thrones at the same time as the HBO broadcast in the US.

Sky TV subscribers will be able to tune in on Sky Atlantic and Sky Atlantic HD at 2:00AM in the UK.

For those who can’t stay up that late or have jobs in the morning, the show will also be repeated at its usual 9:00PM time slot.

Game of Homes: Sky’s Game of Thrones UK premiere event at London’s Guildhall

Sky hasn’t done such a thing since the Lost finale back in 2010. The news was revealed at a star-studded UK premiere last night at London’s Guildhall. Julia Barry, director of Sky Atlantic described Game of Thrones as “one of the crown jewels of Sky” and said that Sky wanted to treat loyal fans.

Before season 4 kicks off, it’s worth revisiting the Seven Kingdoms and the lands across the Narrow Sea; Sky On Demand and Now TV currently has every episode from season 1-3 available to watch now

Now TV with the Entertainment pack costs £4.99/month. Subscribers will be able to stream via iOS and Android apps or through most web browsers. Apps on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, YouView and Roku boxes will also be able to watch the new series.

For those without any of the above, the Now TV box, which costs just a tenner, will plug into your TV with an HDMI cable. This’ll give you all the Game of Thrones action you can shake a Valyrian steel sword at.

Blinkbox customers can now also download to own entire seasons and for those with a love of physical media, you can now pick up every season of the hit show on DVD and Blu-ray.

Events will loosely follow action from the latter half of George RR Martin’s third book in the series, A Storm of Swords. The new series introduces characters from Dorne, the sandy, Moorish-esque region of Westeros, including Pedro Pascal as Prince Oberyn Martell and Indira Varma as Ellaria Sand.

Season 4 of Game of Thrones kicks off on Sky Atlantic on April 7. Check out the latest trailer for the enw season below.
