Sky Movies coming to BT Vision and BT YouView

Sky Movies will be available to subscribe to on BT TV platforms. 

Both BT Vision and BT YouView customers will have the option of adding Sky Movies from October 26 onwards. This will give you premieres in October such as Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Argo and Gangster-Squad. In November, Sky Movies premieres include Life of Pi  and Zero Dark Thirty

The deal will see 11 channels coming to BT TV; Sky Movies Premiere, Sky Movies Showcase, Sky Movies Greats, Sky Movies Disney, Sky Movies Family, Sky Movies Action & Adventure, Sky Movies Comedy, Sky Movies Crime & Thriller, Sky Movies Drama & Romance, Sky Movies Sci Fi & Horror and Sky Movies Select.

Read our guide to Sky MoviesThe multi-year agreement means that both of Sky’s premium TV offerings – Sky Sports including Premier League football and now Sky Movies – are available to BT TV customers.

Alex Green, director of BT TV, said: “We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Sky to enable our TV customers to enjoy Sky Movies and its superb offering of films for every taste, including the latest blockbusters. We believe this gives a tremendous boost to our BT TV film offering.”

Rob Webster, director of Sky’s Commercial Group, adds: “We are pleased to extend the distribution of Sky Movies to BT TV customers.  Following the conclusion of commercial negotiations, BT’s customers can now enjoy access to the UK’s most popular subscription movies service.  In helping even more UK homes enjoy Sky Movies this agreement also supports our wholesale content business.”

Prices for the Sky channels on BT TV have not been revealed. Sky Movies currently costs £16/month with any Entertainment pack (from £21.50/month) on Sky TV. The Sky Movies Boost on TalkTalk TV currently costs £15/month. 

Sky Sports on BT TV currently costs £20/month for both Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2, or the channels can be taken separately at £15/month each. It’s not yet known if BT plans to bundle Sky Movies with Sky Sports on its TV offerings.
