Sky has announced that a number of its TV subscriptions will be going up from June 1 onwards.
In most cases, packages and bundles are going up by £2/month. Premium channel packs – that’s Sky Sports and Sky Movies – are going up by £2/month and £1/month respectively.
While Sky says that on average you’ll pay around £3/month more, you could be paying as much as £5 more a month, depending on how your subscription is structured.

Sky price rises June 2016: Original, Variety and Family bundles
The Original TV entertainment bundle will remain at £20/month for new customers but rise to £22.50 for existing customers.
Existing customers with the Original Bundle will see a monthly price rise of either £1 or £2.50.
Both the Variety and Family Bundles (currently £30/month and £36/month) will be going up by £2.

Sky price rises June 2016: Sports, Movies, HD Pack and Multiscreen (aka Multiroom)
Sky Sports will be going up from £25.50/month by £2 to £27.50/month, while Sky Movies will increase by £1 to £18/month.
If you’re taking both Sky Sports and Sky Movies together, the bundled packs will cost an extra £1.50/month instead of £3.
If you’re taking the £5.25/month HD Pack with Sky Sports, then you’ll be paying £6/month – an increase of 75p, from June 1 onwards.
The good news is if you’re taking the HD Pack in order to watch Sky Movies in HD, you won’t need to do this; from the beginning of June, Sky Movies subscribers will get all those channels in high definition as standard.
Sky Multiscreen subscriptions currently cost an extra £12/month per extra room with Sky+ subscriptions. From June 1 onwards, this will go up to £12.75/month.

Both of the Sky Q subscriptions are going up by £2 in June.
The basic Sky Q Bundle will cost £44/month and the more advanced Sky Q Silver Bundle will cost £56/month.

As with Sky+ subscriptions, Sky Sports is increasing to £27.50/month and Sky Movies will go up to £18/month.

As HD channels are included as standard with Sky Q subscriptions, HD Pack price rises don’t apply here. Similarly, as Sky Q is a multiroom system by default, the 75p increase to Sky Multiscreen won’t be applied, no matter how many Sky Q set top boxes you’re paying for.

Sod this, I want out. How can I cancel my Sky contract?
Customers who are out of the minimum term of their contract have the right to cancel their subscription at any time, provided 31 days notice is given.
Sky+ subscriptions are typically 12 months long while Sky Q contracts are 18 monthers, so if you’ve just signed up, you won’t be able to exit before then.
