Sky rings out Anthony Joshua 360 VR experience ahead of Charles Martin fight

Hot on the heels of Virgin Media’s recent ad and ahead of Saturday’s fight comes this Anthony Joshua 360 VR experience from Sky Sports. 

The 1:25 video is best enjoyed via Google Cardboard, so if you’ve got one of those, open the video below on your phone and tap the Cardboard icon to start watching. 

If you’ve not got Cardboard or a Samsung Gear VR or Oculus Rift to hand then the next best thing you can do is watch the YouTube video below on your desktop browser, grab and pan around with your mouse.

As well as immersive boxing experiences, Sky VR Studio promises to serve up a number of videos designed to give viewers at home a first person view of Formula 1 races as well as the Tour de France. 

Speaking at the announcement of Sky VR Studio last month,  Sky’s managing director of content Gary Davey said: “The Sky VR Studio allows us to add a new dimension to storytelling, taking viewers to extraordinary places and offering a unique perspective on a whole host of events. The development of VR technology is moving at an incredible pace and excitement is building about its potential.”

The Anthony Joshua vs Charles Martin fight is being broadcast live from the O2 on Sky Sports Box Office for £16.95. The event kicks off from 6:00pm onwards, with the title fight currently scheduled for 11:00pm. As usual, only bookings made via the Sky TV remote are recordable using Sky+.
