Sky Sports Monthly Pass kicks off on Now TV

Now TV has finally launched a Monthly Pass for Sky Sports content, letting sports fans stream Premier League content without needing a Sky TV subscription.

The Monthly Pass will set you pack £31.99/month and give you access to all of the Sky Sports channels – Sky Sports 1-5 and Sky Sports F1 – along with Sky Sports News HQ to boot.

You can stream content on up to four devices and have two live streams running simultaneously.

As well as monthly passes, you can pay £6.99 for a 24 hours or £10.99 for a weekly pass. There’s no long term obligation, meaning you’re free to sign up and cancel at your convenience.

The new pricing plan hits Now TV as BT unveils its long-awaited BT Sport Ultra HD service. Costing £15/month in addition to the cost of a BT Infinity FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) service, this lets you stream a number of Premier League and Champions League matches in 4K Ultra HD.

Right now you can’t stream any Now TV content in anything better than standard definition and any HD catch-up content that you can get on the service is 720p HD, not 1080p Full HD.

A new Now TV box is due to hit the shelves in August. Details on this are thin on the ground, but it’s rumoured that the new box will allow for Full HD streams.

Now TV is available for iOS and Android devices, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari (Silverlight required), smart TVs, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Apple TV, Roku and EE TV.
