Tank Top TV allows viewers to compare the box set

Viewers could be able to save money on streaming video box sets with a new service aimed at comparing the prices of online video content.

The service, launched by Tank Top TV, searches for content from a catalogue of more than 73,000 episodes of top TV shows while comparing the cost of streaming or downloading them from a host of major services such as Lovefilm, iTunes and blinkbox.

The database includes US blockbusters such as Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones and Homeland plus classics such as The West Wing and The Sopranos. There is also a wealth of British entertainment including Luther, Sherlock and Alan Partridge.

Tank Top TV chief executive and co-founder Liz Rice said: “Today’s TV viewer no longer needs to make an appointment to watch their favourite show at a particular time. But with such a wealth of online entertainment on offer, it can be a real chore to find something to view.

“Our free listings offer a clear choice of TV favourites, hidden gems people may have missed and currently popular shows. They can either be viewed immediately or added to a watch list for later.”

Searchable categories within the Tank Top TV listings include Action, Children’s, Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi and Thriller while special webisodes can also be found.

Tank Top TV already offers a similar movie comparison service across 22 different on-demand and download platforms including many of the services now being used for TV as well as the EE Film Store, KnowHow, Film4oD and Virgin Online Movies.
