The Cloud connects Macdonald Hotels to free unlimited WiFi

The Cloud has announced that its now supplying the Macdonald Hotels & Resorts hotel group with unlimited WiFi for its guests. 

All guests staying at all Macdonald resorts across the UK will be able to make use of the fast WiFi, at no added cost. 

David Guile, chief executive at Macdonald Hotels says that free WiFi is now an essential service that modern hotel guests expect.

The Cloud has been busy connecting pubs, hotels and hospitals to its ever expanding WiFi network. As well as supplying London Overground stations with WiFi, the Cloud also supplies free wireless internet access to Punch Taverns pubs, Superdrug and even Lords Cricket Ground

Vince Russell, managing director at The Cloud added that free WiFi is a plus not only for the hotel guests but also staff and local attractions.

Russell said: “The demand for WiFi access is constantly growing and hospitality is key to this because a hotel should be a ‘home-from-home’ – the ability to access fast, free internet is part of that experience. In fact not only does free WiFi benefit guests at hotels, but it also helps the hotel itself. 

“For example it can be used to highlight the venue’s services and encourage people to use them. In addition our WiFi landing page has a large advertising space which hosts advertising from non-competing brands, such as a local tourist attraction, which can provide a useful extra revenue stream.”
