Charlotte Reece, senior product and commercial manager for Tivo at Virgin Media added: “The introduction of Play Games will give causal gaming a great new look on TiVo and the addition of extra games will add even more entertainment to what is the UK’s most advanced connected TV service.

“With 1.5 million households across the country already enjoying all that TiVo has to offer, we’re giving developers access to a whole new audience and the chance to bring new ideas and even more fun to home entertainment.”

Casual games have been played over one million times on TiVo this year already. Games developed for TiVo will unlikely be any more advanced than the casual fare mentioned above. While the idea of a TiVo box doubling as a stand in for a games console is exciting if anyone wants to indulge in some more advanced gaming, well, that’s what your PS3’s and Xbox 360’s are for.
