Xbox 360 owners in the UK have been unable to connect to Xbox Live – required to access multiplayer matches and cloud-saved games – for the last two days.
The subscription service, which is no longer required for Xbox owners should they want to watch Netflix, All 4 or Now TV, has been on the blink since Monday night. While Microsoft says that the problem is resolved, some customers are still have problems connecting.
A message posted at 23:58 on August 19 on the Xbox Live Status page says: “Hey Xbox users, have you been having trouble signing in to Xbox Live on Xbox 360?
“If so, we want you to know we believe the issue is resolved, and you should be able to begin signing in right away. Thanks for your patience, Xbox members.”
At the same time, it’s worth noting that the status page lists access to Xbox Live core services as ‘limited’. Grand Theft Auto V gamers are still having issues posting stats to leaderboards and the IGN app is still reported as being on the blink.
Customers have vented their frustration on Twitter, calling for an explanation and refunds. Xbox Live Gold membership costs either £5.99/month, £14.99 for three months access or £39.99 for a year’s worth.
We’ve reached out to Microsoft for a statement and we’re waiting to hear back.
