YouView viewers can now get Dave, Really and Yesterday content through one UKTV Play app.
The service launched earlier this year on iOS, but its big screen counterpart has been completely redesigned, optimising the experience for Full HD TV sets.
Programmes including Storage Hunters UK, Crackanory, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Forbidden History, Inquisition, The Sixties, Crime Stories, Most Haunted and Ghost Adventures are available to stream on demand by hitting the blue button on your YouView remote and scrolling through to the catch-up menu.
Thanks to YouView’s backwards-scrolling guide, you can also launch UKTV catch-up content from the main EPG page as well.
Dan Fahy, UKTV’s director of commercial and business development said: “We created UKTV Play to give viewers access to UKTV’s fantastic content anytime, anywhere via a single on-demand destination.
“UKTV’s viewers really embraced the new UKTV Play app when it launched on iOS in the summer and the launch of UKTV Play on PC and YouView marks the next step in growing UKTV’s first fully-digital brand.”
The PC version of UKTV Play, also launching today, appears to be a little fuller, giving you access to themed collection of programmes including ‘Real Crime’, ‘Wet Weekend’ and ‘Gadget Geeks’. There’s also a curated ‘Staff Picks’ section.
The YouView version of UKTV Play offers a seven day catch up service, allowing you to watch content from across Dave, Yesterday and Really.
Last week, UKTV launched catch-up content from all of UKTV’s channels – from Alibi to Watch – on Virgin Media’s On Demand platform. Virgin Media is currently the only TV platform that gives you access to all of UKTV’s on demand content. Sky customers can get Dave, Gold, Alibi and Watch and YouView customers can get Dave, Really, Yesterday and Quest. Virgin Media customers will be able to access UKTV Play, but not until later in the month.
