Apple’s event on September 14, dubbed California Streaming, promises to be a very memorable showcase of the brand’s newest products.
What could possibly be more exciting than a raft of shiny new Apple products? Absolutely nothing, and that’s why we’ve collected all the information together in this page so you can know exactly what to expect before the big event kicks off, and follow product launches live as they happen.
When is the Apple Event?
The Apple Event is set to take place on Tuesday 14 September, at 10am Pacific Time (the local time zone), and 6pm UK time.

What has been announced at the Apple Event?
If you’re not watching the video stream or just want a quick recap, here are all the biggest announcements from the night, published as they happened:
iPad
The new iPad rocks an A13 Bionic chipset for 20% faster performance. Camera improvements have also been made, with the selfie camera being a 12-megapixel 122-degree ultrawide lens equipped with Center Stage. It will also be compatible with Apple Pencil, and will be launched running iPadOS. It will be available to pre-order on September 14, and available to buy in one week’s time.
iPad Mini
Rocking a redesign including narrower bezels and a thinner, more lightweight profile – plus four attractive colours: purple pink, space gray, and “starlight” (white).
The screen now measures 8.3-inches, and the performance has jumped up by 40% for the CPU, and 80% for the GPU – while also providing an optional 5G mobile data connection. But the most surprising new feature is its USB-C port in place of Apple’s proprietary Lightning connection.
The rear camera has been improved, now supporting 4K video recording, and the stereo speakers on either side have been boosted. It offers Apple Pencil support too. Built with 100% recycled aluminium, it’s priced at $599.
Apple Watch Series 7
The new wearable has been significantly redesigned, now boasting its largest ever display – 20% bigger than the previous generation, while able to display 50% more text – as the bezels now measure just 1.7mm. The glass is more crack resistant than ever, and it has IPX6 certification for water resistance. Charging is faster than ever too – 8 minutes of charging will give you 8 hours of sleep tracking support.
The starting price will be $399.
iPhone 13
Once again, Apple has focused on a new design. Claiming to boast the toughest glass in the industry, along with an IP68 resistance rating, it certainly will be durable. It will be available in five different shades: pink, blue, midnight (black), starlight (white), and Product RED.
On the inside, it’s got a powerful A15 bionic chip, built on a 5nm process – the 6-core CPU is the fastest on any smartphone, while the GPU processes 50% faster graphics than its closest rival.
The camera captures 50% more light than predecessors, and so Night Mode has been greatly improved. Cinematic Mode is a new video option that can hold focus on the subject as it moves, and can anticipate when a subject enters the frame.
Battery life is better thanks to that extra efficient chipset. The iPhone 13 will last 2.5 hours longer than its predecessor, and the iPhone 13 Mini will last 1.5 hours longer than its forerunner.
iPhone 13 Pro
Four colours are available for the Pro version: Graphite, Gold, Silver, Blue. Likewise, the notch is 20% smaller than previous versions. It also packs the A15 Bionic chip.
The ProMotion display has an adaptable refresh rate, which changes depending on the task you undertake. It’s available in a 6.1-inch size, or the 6.7-inch size with the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Th camera system is “all-new”, with the ultrawide and wide lenses having larger apertures than previously and plenty of customisable settings to tweak your photos.
Apple Event rumours
Before the event kicked off, these were the big rumours that we were anticipating:
iPhone 13
The showpiece product will undoubtedly be the iPhone 13, Apple’s latest flagship smartphone. Rumoured to boast an enhanced camera and processor, along with aesthetic improvements such as a smaller notch and slimmer camera bump, we expect that it will be a worthy upgrade to the excellent iPhone 12 series.
Apple Watch Series 7
The follow-up to the Apple Watch Series 6 is also expected to make its debut, and rumours indicate that it could be significantly redesigned. The screen will apparently be flat rather than rounded, with a more subdued crown on the side, while they key new feature may be blood glucose monitoring.
AirPods
Also rumoured to be revealed on the big night are Apple’s third generation of AirPods true wireless headphones. These new iterations are said to more closely resemble the AirPods Pro, with shorter stems, though they still could miss out on boasting Active Noise Cancellation.
