Acer Iconia Tab 700 pricing revealed, Full HD for £460? Yes please.

The Acer Iconia Tab A700 has left a lot of tablet buyers salivating. In the wake of a very average run from Acer last year with their Iconia Tab line failing to capture the hearts and moneys of the tablet buying elite, the A700 emerged the Phoenix out of the flame with its 1920×1200 display, quad-core 1.3GHz Tegra 3 processor and micro HDMI port. What wasn’t clear however was pricing, until now.

If the German Website Tablet Test are correct, the 16GB Acer Iconia Tab A700 looks like it will set you back a cool €549 (£460) while the 64GB model will cost €749 (£627).

Odds are, the price of the 16GB A700 will be bumped up to at least £500 given the comparable pricing of the A510 (€500 /(£415) announced yesterday. This wouldn’t seem unreasonable considering the screen and spec sheet outshines the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime that costs the same. If priced much higher however, we’re sceptical the Acer Iconia Tab A700 would shift all that many units, given the Transformer Prime’s obvious USP, its keyboard dock.

Naturally, time will tell whether consumers do indeed want the functionality of Asus’ dock, the sharpness of Acer’s screen or indeed, both in the second half of the year in the form of the Asus Transformer Prime TF700T. In the meantime, give your German a workout and visit TabletTest for more details.
