Acer Iconia Tab A510 release date and price confirmed

The Acer Iconia Tab A510 will be the mid to high end offering pitched directly against the likes of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime with its quad-core processor, Android 4.0 and 10.1-inch display.

Expected to land in Europe this coming April at a price of €500 (£415), the Iconia Tab A510 will ship with either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of memory as well as microSD expandability and an HDMI port. A 3G version can be expected to land in the form of the Iconia Tab A511 later in the year, so from the offset, it looks like one of the better connected tablets on the market.

While it’s been the Acer A700 that’s been enticing the techies with its full HD display in contrast to the 1280×800 display of the A510, currently, the A510 is one of only a few announced Android tablets confirmed to be launched with Ice Cream Sandwich and a quad-core processor, so at least for now has a lot going for it.

That said, this will likely change at MWC, so we’re hoping Acer endows their Iconia Tab A510 with something to make it stand out from the crowd, be it an incredible battery or an all singing all dancing suite of apps – we’ll find out in April.
