The Acer Iconia Smart is very much smartphone XXL. Boasting a 4.8-inch screen it is just about big enough to be considered a small tablet but not so big you couldn’t think it a smartphone.
The display really is the best bit about this phone; set in 21:9 aspect ratio and with a resolution of 1024×480 it is perfect for website and media viewing. It is also LED edge lit and includes Dolby Mobile for decent sound.
The device packs the usual Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a 1GHz processor. It also has a gyroscope and accelerometer for gaming.
On the back is an eight-megapixel camera and a two-megapixel on the front for video calling.
Design-wise, the phone is relatively thin at 64.5mm and well built, including a full metal body. Exciting stuff from Acer then, shame about the lack of dual-core.
