Amazon’s £33 tablet and other great-value budget tablets

Rumours have it that Amazon is set to release a $50 (£33) Kindle Fire tablet in time for Christmas 2015, which makes it even cheaper than this collection of awesome budget tablets.

Amazon’s new super-cheap budget tablet will be aimed at anyone who wants a simple device for browsing the web and checking out YouTube vids, and it’ll rock a tinier price tag than the already-dirt-cheap Fire HD 6. Apparently the new tablet will pack a 6-inch screen just like the Fire HD 6, and will give instant access to Amazon’s online store, where you can now pick up a massive selection of free apps and games.

If you can’t wait that long, the Fire HD 6 is only £79 and offers a compact design, sharp mini-screen and all of the features you’d expect. Amazon Prime users will especially love how you can quickly and easily access Amazon’s collection of TV shows and movies, which you can now download as well as stream.

If you’re not an Amazon fan, you can always opt for the Tesco Hudl 2 instead, which offers sharp visuals and strong performance despite its £99 asking price. And like the Fire HD 6, you get full parental controls, making it a solid tablet for the kiddiewinks.

And if you need a budget tablet with built-in 4G, check out Vodafone’s Tab Prime 6. It’s not the most exciting tablet around, but the battery life is great and that SIM support means you can get online wherever you roam.

Finally, if you’ve got £125 to spare, you could also check out the Alcatel Pop 7S, which costs £125 on pay as you go with O2. It lets you transfer content straight to your TV, make audio and video calls, browse the Web and more, for a price that won’t break the bank.
