Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX is going for £169 until January 2, 2014

Amazon has slashed the price of its svelte Kindle Fire HDX tablet by £30 until January 2, 2014, taking the price of the 16GB version to £169. 

The same £30 discount also applies to the 32GB and 64GB editions of the Kindle Fire HDX, which can be snapped up for £199 and £229 respectively until very early in the new year. 

Primed for media consumption, the Kindle Fire HDX’s 7-inch display boasts a resolution of 1920×1200 and a PPI (pixels per inch) count of 323, meaning movies, web pages and ebooks will look pin sharp and highly detailed.

 Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus allow for a more immersive audio experience, although if you’d prefer you can listen on your headphones. 

A quad-core 2.2GHz processor and 2GB of RAM power everything, meaning that web browsing, media streaming and gaming should be slick and smooth at all times. 

Other features of the Kindle Fire HDX include the latest version of FireOS, expanded X-Ray for films and TV providing extra cast and crew information and Kindle FreeTime, which lets parents control the types of content children can access on the Fire HDX. 

The Kindle Fire HDX can be ordered online now directly from Amazon.
