Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime GPS updates coming, it’s not a GPS fix though

In-demand hybrid tablet-cum-laptop the Eee Pad Transformer Prime is getting some more update love from its makers Asus.

Contrary to reports we heard earlier in the week, this update won’t address the GPS issues that some owners have reported. Asus’ offer of a full refund or an extended warranty made on Tuesday still stands.

Rather, this update nixes a bunch of graphical gremlins that have plagued things such as video playback and the screen auto-rotating. In an earlier chat with Asus we also understand that improvements to the focus on the main 8-megapixel camera are included with this update.

On Tuesday, Asus announced that a Wi-Fi issue some users had reported hasn’t been detected in any of Primes bound for the UK.

So if you’ve not been able to get hold of one just yet, or yours is on the way, you can rest safe in the knowledge that once you do get it, it’ll be free of any Wi-Fi blues and there’ll be another update, on top of Ice Cream Sandwich, waiting in the wings.
