Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime vs. the original Asus Eee Pad Transformer

Being big fans of both the original Asus Eee Pad Transformer and it’s sleeker reprise, the Transformer Prime, we decided to post a comparison video highlighting the key difference in a way images just can’t.

With a Tegra 2 dual-coreprocessor and expandability options coming out of every end, the original Asus Transformer is still an extremely current device and shouldn’t be discounted from tablet buyer’s minds, especially taking into account its fantastic keyboard. That said, it’s hard not to fall in love with the spanking new Asus Transformer Prime. It’s a beauty to behold and oh my goodness is it fast.
With comparable surface areas and form factors, it becomes easy to spot acute differences when holding the two Transformers up side by side. Specifically, the keyboard dock on the original truly is fantastic, with keys that travel a whole lot further than on the prime and an additional USB port. That said, the trackpad interaction is more comfortable on the Prime and it’s so skinny and seductive with its brushed metal va va voom.

We also take a look at a host of other points such as browsing and docking to give you something of a conclusion, but equally a homage to two tablets we love to love. We’ll have both these puppies in the Recombu HQ for a few days now so if you want us to run any side by sides (Shadowgun anyone?) just let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
