BlackBerry A10 seen in first leaked photo

It was last month that we first heard about the BlackBerry A10, said to be the successor to the Z10, and now we’ve seen the first leaked picture of the device. BGR has thrown up an appropriately blurry photo of the A10, showing a design not too far off the Z10 but with rounded corners and a silver accented chin

According to BGR, the specs for the phone will include a 5-inch 1280×720 AMOLED display, along with a dual-core processor. It’s a little disappointing to see such a large screen with a 720p resolution when other flagships – like the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One – have shifted to 1080p displays, but things could still change before the final release of the handset.

A previous report by CNET suggested that BlackBerry intends to launch the A10 later this year, possibly in November, as its new flagship device. The Z10 will apparently be relegated to mid-range territory, with other handsets – such as the Q10 and Q5 – targeting other price points across the board. Still, the company has been losing market share lately despite the launch of BlackBerry 10. We’ll have to wait and see if the BlackBerry can make a significant turnaround with yet another BB10 handset at this stage in the game.
