The BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380, which we were able to have a brief play with this week, have crept up on O2’s Coming Soon page.
Of the two it’s the Curve 9380 that we’ll be seeing soon, slated for a tentative November release date. The Bold 9790 however won’t be coming until January 2012, chiming with what RIM told us earlier.
Aside from these monthly ETA’s, there’s no further info on these phones in terms of how much they’ll cost or exactly when they’ll hit. The links to each page 404’ed when we clicked them as well – we’ve spoken to O2 about this.
The BlackBerry Bold 9790 is perhaps best thought of a slightly lower-specced version of the Bold 9900, with less of an emphasis on highfalutin’, classy materials. As its slightly smaller than the Bold 9900, we’d say that it’s perhaps aimed that people who found the Bold 9900 a bit of a handful.
Boasting a 3.2-inch touchscreen, the BlackBerry Curve 9380 is basically a touchscreen version of the 9360, specs-wise. You get the same camera and processor underneath and an NFC chip baked in, but a touchscreen instead of a Qwerty keypad and a non-touch 2.5-inch screen.
RIM said that the Curve 9380 will be going for more or less the same money as the Curve 9360. O2 is currently selling the 9360 on £21.50 24 month plans and free on £32 a month 18 month plans. So we expect pricing of the BlackBerry Curve 9380 to be about the same.
