Last year’s Blackberry Priv proved that Blackberry has definitely still got some serious smartphone game. The Priv’s impressive hardware was just the cherry on the top; that phone was our first glimpse of Blackberry’s smartly designed remodelling of Android, which offered up the best of both worlds and made for one of the most surprising smartphones of 2016.

That’s why we’re eagerly Blackberry’s next Android mobile, the Blackberry DTEK50. For while the Priv was a premium handset with a rather steep asking price, the DTEK50 is a mid-range mobile with a more affordable price tag. Don’t worry though, the Blackberry DTEK50 still packs some solid specs, to compete with the likes of the Moto G4 and OnePlus 3.
This time around there’s no physical keyboard, which may split Blackberry fans. However, we’re happy to see the back of those plastic keyboards, as the Priv’s board bulked up the phone and Blackberry’s software keyboard is one of the best around, especially if you’re multi-lingual.

The Blackberry DTEK50 is available to pre-order from the UK Blackberry Shop right now, with an asking price of £275. If you pre-order the DTEK50 via Blackberry’s store, for a limited time you’ll get a free Blackberry Mobile Power Pack worth £55.
You can expect the Blackberry DTEK50 to hit UK stores on August 8.
