BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 now rolling out across the UK

Good things come to those who wait, and we’ve been waiting a little while for the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 update to land.

Improved calendar, unified inbox and using our BlackBerry phones as a trackpad here we come.

Head into Settings > Software Updates and tap the ‘check for updates’ box – you ought to get a message telling you that PlayBook OS 2.0 is ready.

A couple of things you should consider: make sure you’ve got at least 20 per cent of your battery full before starting the update. If you keep your gadget’s battery levels topped up this won’t be a problem, but if not you might want to charge your PlayBook up before you begin.

You’ll also need to restart your PlayBook before you can begin playing around with the new features of OS 2.0 as well. So you might want to save anything you’ve been working on or back up any pictures lest the unthinkable happen.

Once you’ve done all that, connect to Wi-Fi and get going. We’re updating our BlackBerry PlayBook right now – stick around for some hands-on coverage of PlayBook OS 2.0 soon. Until then, check out our hands-on video with PlayBook OS 2.0 from CES this year.
