BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0: turn your BlackBerry into a PlayBook controller (video)

At CES RIM has been showing off some of the new features of BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2, includes some interesting developments to BlackBerry Bridge.

BlackBerry Bridge was first seen on the original PlayBook and was used primarily for tethering to a BlackBerry smartphone to access BBM, 3G for on-the-go connectivity and of course native email.

With BlackBerry OS 2, BlackBerry Bridge hasn’t been rendered obsolete. The update now brings some very interesting features, including the ability to turn your BlackBerry phone into a remote control. So when your PlayBook is connected to a flat screen TV, from the comfort of your couch you can open applications and even launch the browser.

In addition when browsing the web on a BlackBerry handset, there’s a new ‘View on PlayBook’ option in the menu. Press this and it automatically opens the website currently on the PlayBook.

They’re both interesting features that will undoubtedly improve the user experience for BlackBerry users. Check out the video below, show by Recombu’s Basil Kronfli:
