World’s first modular smartwatch ‘Blocks’ hits Kickstarter

Blocks, the very first smartwatch that you can piece together yourself into a custom wearable, has just launched on Kickstarter and smashed its funding target in just under an hour.

We’ve been waiting for the Blocks watch for a very long time, ever since we first clapped eyes on it back in July 2014. Back then it was a very different beast; a plastic, Lego-style wearable that you build up from a variety of sensors and other bits to suit your own personal needs.

Blocks’ heart remains the same but the design is now super sexy, matching other gorgeous smartwatches like the Samsung Gear S2 in the promo materials. And now the wait to rock Blocks on your wrist is almost at an end.

Blocks has just hit Kickstarter, allowing you to help fund the launch and bag yourself a device at the same time. And after just 57 minutes of being live, Blocks has reached its $250,000 funding goal. In fact, at the time of updating this article, Blocks has raised almost double that amount with close to 2000 backers.

Still unconvinced? Here’s a trailer to get you salivating…
