BT to elbow its way back into mobile

After more than ten years, BT is set to leap back into the mobile market, offering bundled deals with its home and broadband services.

BT’s been out of the mobile game for over a decade since selling off O2, but the telecoms giant is set to barge its way back into the warzone towards the end of 2014. Expect some highly competitive bundles as BT offers cut-price mobile tariffs packaged with its existing landline, TV and broadband services.

BT to offer mobile

While concentrating on business packages to begin with, BT will apparently be launching consumer deals soon after. The company is already in talks with mobile manufacturers to supply handsets.

The news will be sour for Virgin Media and TalkTalk, who currently offer similar all-in-one packages to consumers. BT already has 9.7-million residential customers, and if it can turn a significant chunk into mobile users too with an attractive all-encompassing deal, the way should be paved for some serious price wars – always great news for consumers.

Would you be swayed onto a BT all-in-one package? Let us know in the comments below.
