Cheap iPad deals revealed by Orange: Actually quite expensive

Orange has revealed the pricing for its new subsidised iPad plans. If you’re thinking of picking up an Apple slate then you’ll be understandably excited by the idea of a cheaper option, but beware: you’ll probably end up spending more in the long run.

Along with a £27/month two-year contract (£25/month for existing Orange customers), you’ll be paying £199 for the 16GB iPad 3G + WiFi. For 32GB you’re looking at £249 and £349 for 64GB of storage.

Choosing the most expensive option will see you pay £997 by the end of your two year stint; the cheapest, £847.

For your trouble, you’ll get 1GB of any time data and another 1GB for use between midnight to 4pm. There’s also BT Openzone access included so you’ll have access to WiFi pretty much everywhere.

We reckon these contracts will turn out to be the expensive option, but if the low cost initial outlay has got you all hot under the collar, you can register your interest on Orange’s site now.
