Control a kitchen island with your iPhone.

One day, all furniture will be this way. Well, maybe. Tim Thaler decided to create a kitchen island that could be controlled through your iPhone. So here’s how it turned out.

Controlled by an app on his iPhone, the kitchen island can be raised, and then lowered again into your kitchen floor. (Awkwardly covered with some carpet tiles…)

Something Geekologie noted; do you really want a kitchen surface to be walked over daily?  It sounds like a hygienic nightmare.

We guess it boils down to how much you want that open space. Also, it’d be a laugh to start lowering the island while friends are casually leaning on it. (Not that we actually condone such reckless behaviour.)
