Need for Speed Hot Pursuit already has a game available for iPhone and iPad, but this weekend, EA launched something different for its flagship racing brand: a social iPhone app.
Need for Speed Autolog ties into the existing Autolog system for the Hot Pursuit console and PC games. The publisher says it will let players “connect, compare and compete” with friends who are also playing the game.
What that means for the app is updates on in-game events from your circle of friends – when they’ve beaten your best times for example. These ‘recommendations’ can be tagged to be stored, ready to respond to next time you’re on your console or PC playing the game.
Messages and photos shared by friends can also be accessed from the Autolog app, along with your career progress and game profile, and the latest Need for Speed news.
