Facebook Pages Manager app coming soon

Facebook is big business for companies and most have a Page set up to offer customer service, news, competitions and special offers. Currently those with a Facebook Pages need to use the desktop version of the website in order to access information like Insights and to manage their communities. Well this is all set to change.

Facebook has just launched a new application especially for its Pages, called Pages Manager.  It has been released in New Zealand only for now, on iOS, but we expect that it’ll be rolled out globally shortly. With the growing use of social on mobile devices and the fact that over 50% of the social networks users are accessing it via a phone, mobile is a big focus for the company.

9to5mac reports the application functions just like the main Facebook app, but allows you to log-in as the page rather then your personal account. It hence includes all of the information important for managing a page on the social network. This includes Facebook Insights, which allows users to track analytics data from the page, including real-time data on page shares, fan numbers, engagement and total reach.

The app also allows page owners to update directly to the page, respond to fans, manage admins and to view notifications such as a fan posting on their page. This will certainly be a very handy app for community managers to have on the move, meaning they can always be available.

We will of course keep you updated on a UK release and of course availability on other OS networks. You can check out the iTunes link here, but can’t download just yet unfortunately.
