After over a year and a half of conspicuous absence on the iPad, Zuckerberg and Co. will finally be bringing an official Facebook app to Apple’s tablet, according to tech bloggers Mashable.
The app will reportedly get its official unveiling at the Apple event on October 4th. October 4th has been a big date in the calender of the Apple devotee for some weeks now, after rumours that the Apple conference would also serve as the launch platform for the iPhone 5. Or the iPhone 4S. Or both.
According to Mashable’s source, an iPad version of its Facebook app has been ready since back in May, but worries over timing and a tetchy relationship with Apple left Facebook sitting on the app until now. But as Mashable’s Ben Parr speculates, Apple and Facebook may have little choice but to put past differences behind them, as Google continues to attack both on their home turfs with Android tablets and Google+.
