First photos of Apple’s new store within Harrods revealed

We first reported the rumour that Apple was in talks with retail giant Harrods back in January and the official opening was today – just in time for the new iPad to go on sale. The below pic from 9to5mac.com shows the store in its glory:

The new store is located in the technology department of the iconic store and seems to have opened with little fanfare – unlike what we have seen from previous store openings like Covent Garden. However the match-up with the iPad launch seems fitting – although we really don’t see Harrods being too much in support of people camping out in the tech department. The new iPad went on sale two hours later then its counterparts at 10am.

From the picture we can see that much of the instantly recognisable features that create an Apple Store are in place; the wooden tables, white walls, grey carpet and a plethora of Apple devices to play with and drawl over. The photo doesn’t reveal much on the Apple signs or if there is indeed a Genius Bar, but we will be sure to keep you updated.

This marks an interesting move by Apple, going for the high-end customers Harrods prides itself on and also tapping the tourist that frequent the London store.
