Get ready for Burns Night with the Robert Burns app

In time for Burns Night on the 25th January, the Scottish government have launched a Robert Burns app; cramming in all of the famous poet’s err, poems and other works into one place.

They all come with a handy ‘english’ translation over some of the more confusing words; gat to got, bluid to blood .etc

Culture minister, Fiona Hyslop called the new app “a great platform” to promote Burns. She said: “Robert Burns is Scotland’s greatest cultural icon. His legacy is of incalculable value to Scotland and the country’s image abroad.”

Obviously, what Burns called the “great cheiftain o’ the puddin’-race”, haggis, is a large part of the supper, but the app also comes with more on how to run your own Burns supper properly, covering what to else to eat, and what to drink, wear and sing.
