Grim Fandango lands on Android in Remastered form

The fantastic 3D LucasArts adventure game Grim Fandango Remastered is now available to buy for Android devices on the Google Play store.

Already over 15 years old, Grim Fandango is enjoying a fresh burst of life (ironic, given the subject matter) after a recent PC re-release. And now Android users who are craving some nostalgic point n’ click action, or who maybe missed out on the game back in the 90s, can jump right in with Grim Fandango Remastered.

The ‘remastered’ bit refers to the all-new hi-res visuals, with some funky dynamic lighting to bring the many colourful scenes to life, as well as a re-recorded score and over two hours of developer commentary from the LucasArts chaps involved.

Aside from that, it’s the same great game. We won’t go into plot details here, as chances are you’ve already played and adored the original, but Manny’s journey into the land of the dead is just as hilarious and heart-warming as we remember, offering up some truly fantastic characters and a healthy amount of gameplay for your money.

UK fans can pick up Grim Fandango Remastered right now on Google Play for £7.90, although this price is set to rise a few pounds after the first week of release. Bear in mind that it’s a chunky 3.2GB download, so you’ll want to make sure you’ve got plenty of free space and also jump onto WiFi before downloading, to avoid killing your data allowance.
