From today Harry Potter fans young and old will be able to follow the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione at Hogwarts using an Amazon Kindle or via the Kindle App for the first time.
English-language versions of all seven books in the Harry Potter series are available as eBooks from the Kindle Store, following an agreement with J.K Rowling and eBook shop Pottermore.
Although you can browse the titles at the Amazon Kindle store, books can’t be downloaded from the Kindle Store. Instead you are redirected to the Pottermore Shop, where you’ll need to set up account, which links to your Amazon account. As with Amazon Kindle eBooks, once you’ve bought a book you can download it to multiple devices and try a sample for free.
Russ Grandinetti from Kindle Content comments: “For years our customers have loved reading Harry Potter books in print, and have made them the best-selling print book series on Amazon.com.”
“We’re excited that Harry Potter fans worldwide are now able to read J.K. Rowling’s fantastic books on their Kindles and free Kindle reading apps.”
The first three stories: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban cost £4.99 each, while the Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows are £6.99.
The Kindle App is currently available for Apple iOS, Android and Windows Phone operating systems.
