HTC confirms Android 4.0: Ice Cream Sandwich update for 16 mobile phones

HTC has officially confirmed which of it’s mobile phones will be getting the update to Android 4.0: Ice Cream Sandwich.

In a post on the HTC blog Darren Krape, Global Community Manager confirmed that 16 phones will be getting the update. These range from the HTC Desire HD (out in October 2010) right up to the HTC Rhyme(out October 2011) and includes the HTC Desire S and HTC Sensation.

HTC has still not confirmed the exact timings of the update. The HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE updates will be coming first and ‘upgrades will be more widely available in the next few weeks.’

Of course, even if the update is available for a phone, it still has to be made available via the carrier, so we’d suggest checking with your network first.
