HTC First to be available in red, white and blue?

The HTC First hasn’t even been announced and we’re already being treated to new colour options for the suspected Facebook phone. After Android Police posted what they claimed to be a system dump of Facebook Home and @evleaks leaked an image of the HTC First, here’s another leaked shot, watermarked once more by @evleaks and pointed out by 9to5Google. This time, It’s all getting colourful, with a red, white and powder blue version to complement the black HTC First we’ve already seen.

The design of the HTC First, if indeed that’s what it ends up being called is somewhat barebones, without even HTC branding to speak of on the front. Looking free of flourishes and accents and packing just three capacitive buttons on the fascia, the phone looks like it’s set to be a mid-ranger.

Specifications as revealed Android Police lend to corroborate this, with a 4.3-inch 720p display adorning the fascia, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 1GB of RAM inside and a five megapixel camera around the back.

The newly leaked colour options for the HTC First would add to this positioning. Fun, vibrant and altogether accessible, HTC would probably want the phone to suit a breadth of people, especially given the brand clout a Facebook tie-in would deliver across demographics.

We wouldn’t even put it past HTC to go down the Nokia route and feature changeable covers to really appeal to the social butterflys of the world, a distinct possibility given the picture above.

Apparently, the HTC First will also run Android 4.1.2, Sense 4.5 and Facebook’s custom home screen app, dubbed “Facebook Home” over the top. It’s interesting to see an old version of HTC Sense on a new device, possibly suggesting Facebook home completely overlays it?

Clearly, HTC and Facebook aim to go the distance with their integration rather than do things by halves. Given HTC’s history with Facebook phones – the HTC Cha Cha and Salsa – we can see why.

If, like us, you can’t wait to find out more about this social phone, and we’re guessing you can’t, fret not. All will be revealed on April 4th, so check back at around this time tomorrow for a lot more certainty and a lot less speculation.
