HTC HD2: HTC Leo gets all official, gains worse name

Behold one of the largest capacitive touchscreens ever to grace a mobile phone. We rather liked the name Leo but HD2 it is, and who cares when you’re holding a phone with a 4.3-inch display — think of the video playback on that thing. It even does multi-touch.

The HD2 boasts a Qualcomm 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 and uses HTC’s proprietary Sense interface that can also be found on the HTC Hero. Other features include a 5-megapixel camera, HSDPA (3.5G), Wi-Fi, and GPS. Full specs here.

According to HTC the HD2 will be made available later this month. HTC also told us that Windows Mobile 6.5 will be rolled out on the HTC Touch 2 too and if you recently purchased a Touch Diamond 2 or Touch Pro 2 you will also be able to download Windows Mobile 6.5 for free via the HTC site.
