HTC: Ice Cream Sandwich coming to HTC Sensation and XE “by the end of March”, plus more

HTC has posted an update on its Facebook page, saying that the HTC Sensation and the HTC Sensation XE be getting Ice Cream Sandwich “by the end of March.”

This update will be “followed soon thereafter” by an update for the HTC Sensation XL, so early April time by the looks of it.

“HTC has been working hard to get its Ice Cream Sandwich upgrades ready, and we’re excited to announce that our first round of ICS upgrades will roll out by the end of March for the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE, followed soon thereafter by the HTC Sensation XL.”

The post also reveals that older phones from HTC’s line up will be getting a helping of Ice Cream; the HTC Desire HD from the Class of 2010 will be getting some 4.0 love, as will the HTC Incredible S, HTC Desire S and the HTC Evo 3D.

HTC says to “Stay tuned for more updates on Ice Cream Sandwich releases in the coming weeks,” so we’re hoping to get a clearer idea of when these are due to drop.

No pun intended but we think it’s pretty incredible that phones as old as the Desire HD are getting Ice Cream Sandwich. We’ll be updating our own database on Ice Cream Sandwich rollouts to phones for the UK shortly, your go-to place if you want to know which phones are getting Ice Cream Sandwich and when.
