HTC Sensation price revealed: £500 SIM-free, release 30 June

Play is the first to open up its pre-order page for the Sensation, HTC’s forthcoming dual-core smartphone.

For a SIM-free model, you’ll be paying £500, and at the moment, you can expect it to arrive on 30 June 2011. It’s worth bearing in mind that these dates seem to slip and slide all over the place- especially with SIM-free models. It could be earlier, and it could (and most probably will) be later.

The HTC Sensation is also up for preorder from Vodafone, where they have a hopefully more concrete release date of 19 May.

Vodafone have exclusive rights on the new Android phone for its first month of release, and is free if you sign up on a £35 a month 24 month contract.

The HTC Sensation has a high-resolution qHD touch-screen, in a 16:9 widescreen format. It arrives with super speedy dual-core processors, and Android Gingerbread- the very latest version.

It will also be the first phone to come with HTC Watch, an on-demand movie service from HTC, with 1GB of initial storage expandable by microSD up to 32GB.  It comes with a new version of HTC Sense, with some clever new features including the ability to jump straight into apps and shortcuts from the lock-screen.
