Podgorica, Montenegro, location of the latest video uploaded from HTC-Hub, the first grainycam video we’ve been treated to in a while and a pretty in depth look at the HTC Ville, the mid to high end offering expected to be announced at MWC 2012 by HTC.
While details surrounding the Ville have surfaced already, with specs suspected to include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4.3-inch qHD display as well as an 8-megapixel camera, we weren’t entirely sure as to how Android 4.0 would work with Sense, and how Sense 4.0 would work in general.
Now we know.
Much like our hands-on with the Ice Cream Sandwich laden HTC Sensation, the HTC Ville appears to benefit from a lot of the ICS perks, not least of all the customisable dock across homescreens. That said, with Sense 4.0 comes some key improvements, some of which we reported earlier, and others which have been long overdue in Sense such as a horizontal scrolling apps drawer.
The device itself features three capacitive buttons on the front, a volume rocker to the right, 8-megapixel camera and single LED flash to the rear as well as what looks like a removable back cover. With just a micro USB port to the left and a power button / 3.5mm headphone jack up top, it’s a modestly ported phone with a very sleek finish.
Looking off the bat like the successor the the HTC Desire S, the Ville is certainly an attractive phone, besting most handsets out today in terms of specs and not even pegged to be HTC’s flagship for the year. Keep you’re eyes peeled at MWC where we will go hands on with the Ville, watermarks and grainycam cast aside, and if we’re lucky, take you to the Edge.
