Huawei has introduced one of most interesting Android phones we’ve seen over the last few days and CES.
As well as being the company’s first high-end handset, debuting the Ascend brand, the Huawei Ascend P1 S is the world’s slimmest smartphone. At 6.68mm deep it sits comfortably in the hand and is coated in PPVB to ensure heat is distributed evenly.
Running Android 4.0: Ice Cream sandwich, you can get the new refined icons and of course access to the Android market.
There’s 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen with a HD resolution of 960×540 pixels, the screen looks excellent, text is sharp and colours are bright with no visible pixels like we had with the Motorola RAZR. It’s also equipped with Gorilla Glass, so should be tough.
The Huawei P1S is powered by a dual-core 1.5Ghz TI OMAP 4460 processor and 1GB RAM, which should provide speedy performance,.
There’s an 8-megapixel camera which also captures 1080p HD movies, while the dual LED flash helps illuminate in low-light conditions and there’s an HDR mode.
Unfortunately, despite being available in Asia and North America from April, we’ve got to wait until Q3 before we get it in the UK, which is a real shame, we think Huawei needs to release it earlier.
