Huawei Ascend P1 S: world’s slimmest smartphone and Android ICS

UPDATED: Ahead of it’s CES press conference this afternoon details have emerged of what Huawei might be releasing and it appears to be the Android 4.0 Huawei Ascend P1 S; the world’s slimmest smartphone.

At just 6.68mm deep, the Huawei Ascend P1 S runs is billed as the fastest and most compact smartphone in its class, with includes a dual core 1.5GHz OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 processor with 1GB RAM

Runnign Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Google’s new operating system, it packs a very tasty specification list, including a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD 960×540 touchscreen, with tough Gorilla Glass and 4GB storage.

As it one slim smartphone wasn’t enough, the Chinese phone manufacturer is also releasing the Ascend P1, which is slightly chunkier at 7.69mm, but otherwise includes identical specifications.

Otherwise specifications are the same, including an 8-megapixel primary camera with dual LED flash that capture full 1080p video, and a 1.3-megapixel secondary camera that captures 720p movies.

We’re impressed with the specifications of the Ascend P1 S and it will be really interesting to see what price it retails for. We were really impressed with the Huawei Blaze, which offered a lot of features for very little outlay.

Available in metallic black, ceramic white and cherry-blossom pink in the Huawei Ascend P1 S and Huawei Ascend P1 will be available in Europe in Q2.

The Ascend P1 S will be avalable in April
