Huawei’s Media Pad 10 FHD is a slimline quad-core tablet that’s doing the rounds at Mobile World Congress. Unlike a good majority of the quad-core devices we’ve seen, it doesn’t feature Nvidia’s Tegra 3 running things. Instead Huawei has got its own K3 processor keeping things going.
Other listed spec include a high-res 10.1-inch display with a pixel count of 1920×1200, IPS (in-plane switching) and a display aspect of 16:10. Measuring just 8.8mm thick the Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD is super-slim. With a metal back with white plastic accents it looks like a flattened, elongated HTC Flyer without the stylus.
There’s an 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus and a twin LED flash. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is the OS and as you can see from the video below it has no problem handling high-end games.
UK availability is still up in the air. Given that the Huawei Ascend D quad, Huawei Ascend D quad XL and Huawei Ascend D1 are all bound for Europe we’d assume that Huawei would want to round out their portfolio with an Android tablet.
Stated specs reveal that there’s 3G and LTE connectivity though it’s unsure whether this means there’ll be separate 3G (i.e. GSM) and LTE versions or not.
