Huawei reveals insanely huge 6.8-inch P8 Max phablet

Huawei didn’t just unveil the Huawei P8 flagship phone at today’s launch. The Chinese company also pulled back the veil on its ridiculously massive 6.8-inch phablet, the Huawei P8 Max, which it assures us is definitely still a phone.

Despite being bloody massive, the Huawei P8 Max is still just 6.8mm thick, which has to be admired. After all that’s almsot as thin as Sony’s incredibly slender Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The two-tone design is 94% metal and that enormous screen takes up an impressive 83% of the front panel, which Huawei claims keeps the P8 Max ‘pocketable’. Perhaps, if your name is Jojo and you work at the circus.

Huawei claims that the 4,360mAh battery can apparently stream videos for ten hours and go for over two days on a full charge, better than any other phablets out there.

A 13-megapixel camera packs the same smart OIS tech and image processing as the Huawei P8, which means it should shoot crisp and bright photos even in low light conditions. Huawei reckons the camera tech is better than Apple’s on the iPhone 6 Plus, something we’ll be sure to test in real life scenarios. There’s also a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Huawei P8 Max starts at 549 Euros for the standard version and the ‘premium version’ will cost from 649 Euros. Expect to see it in the UK around May time.
