Along with the MediaPad tablet announced today, Huawei is introducing a new Android smartphone into the UK market.
With a aluminium alloy unibody design and weighing a light 121g the Vision is the second smartphone to arrive in the UK under Huawei’s own name, following the entry-level Blaze.
Running Android Gingerbread 2.3, the Huawei Vision is a mid-range smartphone, powered by a 1 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8255 Processor.
What makes the Vision unique is the ability to swap between the vanilla Android interface and Huawei’s own custom interface features including a unique 3D carousel interface.
The Vision is being introduced as part of a major push into the UK Smartphone market by the Chinese manufacturer in a bid to get a 4% market share by Q4 2012.
Connectivity includes Bluetooth 2.1, Wifi and push email. The 5-megapixel camera captures 720p HD movies and includes an LED flash. Pre-installed on the device are a selection of games including: Angry Birds, Order and Chaos Online and Asphalt 6: Adrenaline.
The Huawei Vision launch date will be before Christmas exclusively at Phones4U in silver, rose gold and charcoal. It will be free on contracts of £25 a month. Other networks and retailers will sell the the phone from Q1 2012.
