iOS 5, iCloud available October 12th

iOS 5 will finally be leaving beta and be available to the masses starting Wednesday October 12th. The update will be available on the iPhone 4 and 3GS, iPad 1 and 2, and 3rd/4th generations of the iPod Touch.

The new iOS build has features such as a new notification center, iMessage, Reminders, deep Twitter integration into the OS, Newstand, an improved Camera application with volume button shutter support, tabbed browsing in Safari (for iPad only), and of course the much anticipated iCloud.

iCloud will also be available October 12th, bringing a new Find my Friends feature, as well as photo, document, and music cloud storage capabilities. You get 5GB for free, with further storage options costing you extra. iTunes Match, which scans your current music library and automatically makes it available from Apple’s servers, will only be available in the USA for now.
