iPhone 5 to launch in Q3 with 4 inch display

Financial paper China Times has suggested that the iPhone 5 is already in trial production and could be set for a quarter three launch.

The China Times report appears to collate with rumours that the new Apple handset will share a similar design aesthetic to the current gen iPhone.

That said the iPhone 5 will have a few unique features of its own, a larger 4 inch display and a metal chassis instead of glass case. China Times also says the new handset will feature an NFC chip supplied by Qualcomm.

The metal chassis should hopefully improve antenna sensitivity and add a bit of extra strength to the phone.

Mac rumors has stated that an iPhone 5 parts video which leaked in January could have been a look at the new casing for the handset.

Given the close proximity of the supposed iPhone 5 launch with the recent Verizon iPhone 4 in the states it could be we see the new handset a bit later in the year.
