The LG G4 has been shown off in its entirety in a series of leaked promotional images.
Someone in LG’s web management team might be getting a slapped wrist after a microsite detailing the device went live early and prolific leaker, Evan Blass, was in prime position to share the oversight.
The page wasn’t up for long, a few hours at most, but during that time we were able to get a good and detailed look at the upcoming device, ahead of its April 28th launch.
The images showed that the rumours regarding leather were spot on. The device has a smart, stitched leather rear panel which will be available in a number of colours, including a timeless tan, black, a blood red – and other, regular back plates were shown too, though they weren’t half as interesting.
The site also showed off some of the device’s stats – and it was only some, because many of the details were still being added by the developer when things went online.
What we were able to see is that the device will sport a 16-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, infrared colour spectrum analyser and LG’s new laser autofocus tech, which sends out a pulse of laser light and measures how long it takes for various points to return after they’ve bounced off your subject.
The device was also shown to have a 5.5-inch QHD display, 3,000mAh battery and a microSD slot, which is likely to come in handy if the camera is as good as we hope it will be.
Mercifully for LG, there’s still some information on the device to share, otherwise the April 28th event which the company has been planning for weeks would have been something of a washout.
