We compare the LG G5 to the Samsung Galaxy S6 at Mobile World Congress 2016.
The LG G5 looks set to take the rest of the world on with a full metal jacket, wide angle camera and an array of modular gadgets.
But how does it compare to the Galaxy S6? Samsung’s 2015 flagship rightfully earned a five-star review from Recombu, partly due to its fast camera, fetching design and overall powerful performance.
Camera-wise, while we’ve only had a bit of hands-on time with the LG G5’s camera, we’re impressed with how quick it is at shooting stills; like the Galaxy S6 it’s near instant. We’re not able to perform any meaningful camera comparisons at Mobile World Congress – what with all phones secured to their bases with alarmed tethers – we’ve a feeling that the G5 is going to stand up well in a future camera supertest.
While we love the way the Galaxy S6 looks, there’s no denying that its polished frame is a fingerprint magnet. Not so the LG G5, which is all shiny metal.
Like the G5, the Samsung Galaxy S6’s panel boasts Quad HD resolution but a slightly smaller screen – 5.1-inches. While that’s smaller, that actually increases the PPI count meaning things look a tiny bit sharper. Obviously we’ve not had enough time to tell you how things like battery life stack up but we know from experience that the S6’s 2,550 mAh cell gives us roughly a day’s use.
The LG G5 comes with a slightly bigger battery (2,800 mAh) and if what LG says is true about the energy-saving properties of its active display, we should hopefully get more mileage out of a day’s charge.
