LG Optimus 3D and Optimus Pad official: Record your own 3D videos

Following Samsung’s idea of announcing their phones before their own press event, LG have sent a press release with the more details of its upcoming Optimus 3D and Optimus Pad, both penned for a press conference later today.

The LG Optimus 3D is a dual-cored dual-lens smartphone, that apparently packs “four times more video decoders” than its competitors.

It’ll be the world’s first 3D phone, and along with the chance to make your own 3D videos, you’ll be able to show them off through the Optimus 3D’s no-glasses WVGA 4.3-inch 3D screen.

All that 3D goodness can be connected through the HDMI port, or DLNA, especially good for that huge 3D TV gathering dust in the corner.

The Optimus pad packs an 8.9-inch touch-screen, with a 1280×768 WXGA resolution. It’ll be running on designed-for-tablet Android 3.0, and like the Optimus 3D, there’s a dual-core processor, this time a 1GHz Tegra 2.

This is the first tablet we’ve seen that’s able to record in 3D, but there’s no glasses-free screen on the tablet- you’ll have to connect it to a 3D TV or share them on the web through LG’s recently announced YouTube partnership.

We’ll have some hands-on pictures and videos coming soon.
